As per the Prime Minister’s announcement, from tomorrow – Thursday 20 January – the wearing of face masks in classrooms will not be expected.  Currently, it remains the expectation that they will be worn in communal areas and we ask that parents ensure that their son/daughter brings a mask each day.  Any student who wishes to wear a face mask in the classroom will be permitted to do so.

Face coverings are required to be worn by adults and students when moving around the premises, outside of classrooms, such as in corridors, and  communal areas where social distancing cannot easily be maintained. Students, unless exempt, will be expected to wear face coverings IN the classroom

One key way you can help is by ensuring that, when your son/daughter leaves the house in the morning, they have a suitable face covering. If you are finding it hard to provide your son/daughter with a suitable face covering, please get in touch with the relevant Head of Year and we will be glad to help.

  • Face coverings are required at the change of lessons.
  • Face covering are required on entry and exit from school and on public transport and dedicated school buses.
  • They are needed at break and lunch times.
  • Face coverings are required during lessons.
  • All face coverings should be of a plain colour with no insignia, allegiance or elaborate design on it (examples below).
  • Students may also choose to wear a clear visor also.
  • Some students may be exempt from wearing face covering due to a medical issue or disability.  Parents need to request this via the Head of Year to get an exemption card.
