Messages from Ben and Ellis, Head Boy and Head Girl

"My name is Tom and I was chosen as Head Boy in May 2016. This is a really exciting position for me and I am looking forward to working with Ellis and Mrs Barton in helping develop the Academy even further.

We have an extensive team of subject ambassadors who form the Sixth Form Senior Council and they have decided this year to run sub-committees on attendance, rewards, environment and fundraising initiatives. I am certain that they will have a big say in how post 16 studies are improved even further.

If you are visiting Woodkirk I hope to see you.  If you are thinking of joining us you would have a fantastic time here and achieve some brilliant results."

"My name is Ellis and I am the Head Girl for Woodkirk for 2016-2017. I can’t begin to tell you how exciting it is to have such an opportunity and I hope that I can follow in the footsteps of the previous Head Girl as an outstanding ambassador for the Academy.

I am aiming to progress to a Russell Group university next year and I know that the teachers and staff will help me get the grades that I will need to achieve that goal.

Like Ben, I fully recommend Woodkirk to anyone who is thinking about their options for post 16 studies and I hope to see you around.
