FACE COVERINGS

FACE COVERINGS

Leeds has now become an area of intervention with restrictions (known as Tier 1). This means that face coverings are required to be worn by adults and students when moving around the premises, outside of classrooms, such as in corridors, and  communal areas where social distancing cannot easily be maintained.

One key way you can help is by ensuring that, when your son/daughter leaves the house in the morning, they have a suitable face covering. In the first two and a half weeks after re-opening we have distributed close to 2000 disposable masks. If you are finding it hard to provide your son/daughter with a suitable face covering, please get in touch with the relevant Head of Year and we will be glad to help.

  • Face coverings are required at the change of lessons.
  • Face covering are required on entry and exit from school and on public transport and dedicated school buses.
  • They are needed at break and lunch times.
  • Face coverings are not required during lessons.   Should students wish to wear face coverings at these times they may do so.
  • All face coverings should be of a plain colour with no insignia, allegiance or elaborate design on it (examples below).
  • Students may also choose to wear a clear visor also.
  • Some students may be exempt from wearing face covering due to a medical issue or disability.  Parents need to request this via your Year Tutor to get an exemption card.
