School bus services from 23rd March
As you be are aware, the Combined Authority has taken the decision to continue running school bus services until we can establish what level of support is required for children of key workers.
However, The following school special services that are normally provided by Arriva will not operate: WA1 and WA2
These services operate on a commercial basis (i.e. are not contracted or directly subsidised by the Combined Authority). Arriva is normally able to operate these services on a commercial basis because they are integrated with non-school services within the company’s Monday to Friday timetables. However, this will not be possible from 23 March 2020 as Arriva have taken the decision to operate a Sunday service on weekdays until further notice.
If, as a result of this decision, the school experiences any difficulty making suitable transport arrangements for children of key workers who would normally use these services, please let us know and we will do what we can to help.
