Job Explorer Database (JED)

JED helps make careers information understandable, interesting and engaging for students. It has information on over 850 jobs and over 340 high quality video case studies, pictures, quizzes, 'top tens', and career facts of the day. Please see here for more information, and here for a demo.

My Directions

MyDirections is a 24/7 personal careers platform. It has been designed to help young people plan their future by exploring multiple career options, stimulating discussions and ultimately making good informed choices that are the best for them

Start offers lots of local information and inspiration to young people who are working and studying in Leeds. It is a fantastic resource, which offers activities to support our students in Year 11 and Year 13.

Online Support - Amazing Apprenticeships

Amazing Apprenticeships have launched The Parent Perspective podcast, this is a great resource which provides lots of information to help support your child with careers advice and guidance. They have also put together some fantastic resources for students who are interested in a Post 18 apprenticeship, T Levels or Traineeships. Universities

The High Fliers Graduate Careers Live! is a new twice-yearly 90-minute TV programme, introducing sixth form students, their parents, and schools’ careers & university admissions staff to the graduate job market.

Broadcasting from a studio in central London, the programme is specifically aimed at Year 13 students & their parents and will showcase many of the job opportunities, occupations and professions that sixth form students can aspire to in the future.

It will provide inspiration, information and practical careers guidance on how university – or one of the growing number of degree apprenticeships – can lead to ambitious, rewarding careers in areas like engineering, technology, banking & finance, law, accountancy, the media and the public sector.

Talking Futures

The Talking Futures Campaign is designed to improve parents’ confidence and give them the information they need to have more informed conversations with their children about education and careers.

Talking Futures have launched a new interactive online tool, ‘Conversation Cards’, which is designed to break this information down into manageable chunks and give parents the information and signposting they need to guide their child through the decision making process and discover the careers that might interest them.

StudentStream

StudentStream brings together video content featuring vital advice, help and expert knowledge from universities and colleges across the UK. Whether you are at the beginning of your journey towards higher education, or currently at university and want to know more about life after studying your undergrad degree, this website will have content to cover it. Opportunities with Barclays Life Skills

Barclays Life Skills Hub has been designed to encourage our young people to focus on developing their employability skills now in order to give them the best possible chances in the future.                     

The hub will guide you through interactive activities, films and tools to develop life skills needed to support your future in today’s changing world.
