Please find below the relevant information and policies for those wishing to apply for a place in September 2025 for Year 7. Our Pupil Admission Number (PAN) is 300.

You must apply to the local authority who empties your bins. If this is Leeds, go to www.leeds.gov.uk/apply. The website is a composite prospectus for all Leeds schools and this includes:   

·      all the steps you need to go through to make an application

·      the key dates

·      a search tool to see if your home address gives a higher priority for admission to any school(s) 

·      an explanation about how places are offered if there are more applications than spaces (oversubscribed) 

·      the online application portal - apply online to be sent your offer day letter by email 

·      a summary of each school’s individual admission policy criteria 

·      data about who got a place in the last 3 years - this will help you work out if there is a reasonable chance of your child qualifying for a place 

·      information about applying under a specific admission criteria (such as your child being previously looked after).

It is really important to ensure you submit all supporting evidence by the deadline to show you meet any such criteria.

If your child is successful in securing a place for September 2025 at Woodkirk Academy, you will find out on 3 March 2025. If you wish to accept the offer of a place for September 2025, please email:

   admissions@woodkirk.leodis.org.uk with:
- your son/daughter's name;
- your son/daughter's date of birth; 
- your son/daughter's primary school.

Appeals Process:  Woodkirk Academy's appeal hearings are administered by the Local Authority, Leeds City Council. If your child was unsuccessful in securing a place for Year 7 in September 2025, you have the right to have your appeal heard by an Independent Appeals Panel.
