Kindness Day 2024

After its success last year and in line with the school's core values of being kind and working hard, Woodkirk Kindness Day returned this week to help raise money for a local foodbank.  Sixth Form students have worked extremely hard over the last few weeks to take orders for cupcakes to send to a friend or teacher. The students set themselves a target of exceeding last year's total of 700 sales and reached this comfortably by taking around 1000 orders and raising just over £2000 for the Leeds South and East Foodbank.

It was great to see how Woodkirk staff, students and families came together to donate well over 1000 cupcakes that were distributed to staff and students on Monday 5 February.

The money raised will be used to purchase items that the foodbank need.  The students are looking forward to seeing how many items they can buy with this money and also seeing the difference this will make to so many people within their local community.

We would like to say thank you to everyone who supported this event by buying cupcakes for your children, encouraging your children to send a cupcake and to everyone who sent some cupcakes into school. The day could not have been the success it was without everyone's support.  We look forward to this becoming an annual event in our school calendar.
