Woodkirk Academy STEM Group visited by Engineers from the University of Houston, Texas.
A group of 11 engineering students and staff from University of Houston have travelled to Leeds in order to learn about how Science, Technology, Mathematics and Engineering are taught in the UK. As part of their visit they spent an hour with Woodkirk Academy students aged 14-16, sharing experiences of education. Woodkirk students really enjoyed this opportunity to learn about life in Texas and discuss their visitors’ research in developing environmentally friendly cars and monitoring water quality. A fantastic time was had by all!
